Desk Wealth Corner

by Renee Lindstrom, GCFP @ Inside Awareness

This desk corner is about abundance. Abundance in finances, investments, and resources.  For me it also represents abundance in the quality of experiencing life and relationships that includes the cycle of giving and receiving.  An example is the balance of giving and taking.    If wealth is from natural resources the question to consider is in the equal contribution back to restore and maintain balance and the quality of  nature and the environment.  In other words, is only taking and not  giving back?

3 Wealth Corner Tips:

  1. Declutter and open up space in this corner
  2. Add blue, purple, and red colours
  3. Add objects reflecting moving water such as fish (3), picture,  or fountain

Action:

  • Intentions, Hopes & Wishes

A crescent moon is the best time to commit to one’s  intentions, hopes, and wishes for the Lunar Month.  This is the time  to write your goals on paper or to begin a journal!

Inspired Goal Setting follows the Moon’s path as a reference to create harmony and ease with references on how to apply to one’s calendar of monthly and daily goals.  It supports making one’s goals more doable and more achievable!

This program considers importance of  waning and waxing moon cycles!

What is being said about Inspired Goal Setting Workbooks:

Thank you for this gift, Renee
I can imagine ways to use it to help me stay focused on my healing.  There are so many parts to it (exercise, foods and supplements, braces, and other supports, mental attitude, etc) that I find it hard to remember it all every day.  I think your method will really help. Judy

I’ve REALLY enjoyed working with this tool so far!  I am using it to set “goals” for my own self. B

I have enjoyed the small piece of sharp focus.  B

In a blink of an eye your purpose can shift without your awareness of it!

I have a temporary house guest!  Her name is Kooks and I am wondering if changing her name to something calmer would restore calm and peace in my home!  She is my son’s cat who has arrived along with him while he gets enrolled in school and settled into a new job.

Having her has been a learning experience.  She is only a few years old and extremely active.   This is made worse by the fact that there is  a steady flow of deer, raccoons, squirrels, birds and flying things past our windows.  Having a park one house down also guarantees a steady parade of kids, dogs and people on various forms of transportation.  She is an indoor cat who is longing to be an outdoor one.  Oh did I mention the neighbor cat that is the size of a bull-dog!  Kooks is a small cat about the quarter of size of a fully grown cat that acts like she is the same size as the bull-dog cat.  It would not be a good match.

How do you think my focus of attention has shifted?  Well  I can tell you it’s gone from having no concern or care for a cat to a full-time focus.  She is curious and wants to know everything I am doing.  She is bored with her own company, doesn’t like to be alone  and expresses herself constantly.  She positions herself into being the “purpose” or focus of attention (intention) and when she’s not, she ensures you are aware of her, even at night.  She has brought many moments of affection, cuddles, playfulness and beauty as well so it’s hard to be annoyed at her.  However, her distraction to focus includes sleeping!  A night or two is manageable yet after a few nights the deficit affects waking hours and before you know it your drained and not able to support a healthy regime.  You slide.  At least I am noticing it for myself.  My solution is to wake up to what is happening and take my power back!  Yes unfortunately I am noticing how easy it is to lose your power to an animal and I am not referring to having a power animal.

It wasn’t my intention to have an animal after loosing my dog a few years back so I had not considered my agenda by have this one as a guest.  I have enjoyed her, yet in meeting her constant needs, I recognize that it has interfered with meeting my own.  Now it’s time to take steps to balance this out while she visits.

I now know first hand the value of asking oneself these questions:

  • Are you aware of how others and animals can influence where you focus your attention?
  • Did you know that your focus of attention is your ‘purpose” and can be shifted by a thought, feeling or interruption?
  • Are you aware when your focus of attention is hijacked away from your original intention?

If you answered no to the above questions, begin to notice this for yourself.

You may be at work focusing on a program you are developing and a peer walks into your office and doesn’t ask if you have a free moment and simply begins talking about their problem they are dealing with.  What happens to your concentration?

It may be at home while trying to get dinner on and your teen comes in to tell you how you ruined their day without asking you if you have a free moment first beforehand.  What’s your reaction?

The good news is that you too can learn to be aware of these distractions to your focus of attention without getting sucked down into the drain of irritability, frustration and annoyance and having the only option of reaction!

Connect to find out more about how to shift to action of understanding your focus and how to keep it with less reaction.  Consider empathy coaching or training.

Falling over in sitting and standing

I shared an article recently about an experience with someone in a Balance class who didn’t walk, stand or sit in an upright position.  I want to share now what motivated a change in her mental, emotional and physical behavior in her first two classes.

Our first class together was spent re-directing her focus from her storytelling to noticing how to stay upright in her seat to do the movement patterns being shared with her.

She didn’t show up for the second class yet did come back for the third. Between our third and fourth classes there was a significant difference.  She had been the first one to arrive at the third class.  This meant there was enough time to spend propping her up to stay in an upright position.  She was frozen solid through her shoulders, arms, neck, head and torso with one side of her rib cage being held so it was shorter than the other.  arm support To keep her upright props were placed under her arm on the side that was contracted (shorter side).  Blocks were put under her feet so she could feel them on the floor.

By the end of the lesson she became aware that she had stopped using her back muscle strength to hold herself upright even in sitting.  She had lost physical contact with engaging them!

After our class she went home and used the same propping technique to support herself in sitting.  This was obvious  as at the next class she was able to bring herself into an upright position in sitting and hold it.  She had no concept of this the week before.  As I place props under her arm I noticed her arms were more flexible and she was bracing herself less!

She was more happy and content in this class and I noticed she was listening more deeply and paying attention.  At the end of this class she exclaimed, “No one is showing us this or explaining how the body works.”

This is an extreme example of the meaning of Moshe’s quote:

Flexible Bodies, Flexible Minds

How do you learn? Where do your emotions and thoughts come from?

#1.  You are borne into an environment

This is how a culture is formed!

#2.  You have the INHERENT ability to learn INDEPENDENTLY stimulated and shaped by your environment

summer-620x349

First learning is inspired through movement!

If your environment is safe, open and free your thoughts, emotions, movements and  behavior will reflect these qualities.  You will likely be more flexible in your actions.  However if your environment is a prison filled with hate and poverty your thoughts and behavior will reflect these qualities!  You will likely be more conservative and restricted in your actions.

The good news is you never stop learning!  You have the ability to change your own conditions through awareness techniques and skill building that will create the environment for your own future generations!  Change the future by shifting the past, now in conscious presence.

Make a difference.  It begins with you!

Why?  836996

To go beyond the imposed constraints and false emotional realities,

To support a healthier culture that cares for themselves, others and the planet equally.

To live as though values matter,

By speaking your values creating autonomy

and valuing others values equally creating interdependence!

To use gravity effectively to attain balance, consider your bones as the structure of support in the design of your body, and values as the structure of support in your relationships.
