Awareness through Mental & Emotional Health: Cultural Conditioning & Elitist Mentality of Addictions

Influences in Health, Knowledge, Fame, Relationships, Community, Future, Career, Wealth, and Past Life Areas
Both websites in diagrams have been created by Renee Lindstrom

One of the first introductions into energy work, with a focus on how to direct the energies as a healer, was understanding the chakra energy centers. Before the focused study of somatic empathy, there was no structure. Without knowledge, there is a huge opportunity to be taken advantage of which is a common experience in our society.  Unfortunately, it includes those closest to us as well as being further out in the community circles.  The Chakras are a nice introduction to the influences of manipulation.

When first delving into this skill development it was unfamiliar and shared in a way that I was led to believe it was energetic manipulation by some negative energy purposely out to harm.  It was a different interpretation of right and wrong thinking like in the differentiation of god and the devil reflects right and wrong.  Everyone’s dialogue had a focus on some outside influence that was evasive and not centered.  I share this as this is an example of gaslighting to a somatic empath.  A somatic empath’s perception is of the reality of the experience at the moment, not some elusive concept.  They can feel the blocked chakras in themselves and others.  They can energetically feel the addictions others have and their own.  It is not some outside force.  It is an inside response to an outside stimulus.  An adult has free will and choice.  No one forces them to enter into an experience that leads them into their addictions. Adults may not be equipped with all the information they need to make fully informed decisions but they do have intuition and a value system of some kind has been modelled for them at some point in their lives.  The value system may not have been formal, however, someone knows the second they enter into an activity that seems edgy knowing it is unethical or immoral.  Most of these activities are such that they become serious addictions.  That’s the point.  To get you addicted as under that influence you are easy to control.  Especially if you have low self-esteem, low willpower and lack courage.

To understand these experiences I began my journey as a healer through hands-on healing.  First through attunements and Reiki which shifted after connection with Trangu Rinpoche whose contact with me opened my hand chakras to such a degree that attunement and Reiki energies seemed weaker for me.  Also, I had long dropped the authority components as influences over me in positions of perceived power that need to be held in high regard to operate within a system of entrapment.  Being in a position of authority is something you have inside yourself in my opinion, or have the ability to develop.  It’s not someone outside you follow as they believe they are an authority which I call elitism.

This perspective for me extends to false philosophies of the obscure. Luckily this perspective led to actionable lifestyle educational programs that dropped the outside energy attachments and developed patterns for physical, mental and emotional function in alignment that strengthens willpower through clean and more precise actions.  By clean I am not comparing to addictions, but rather in the moment through the pattern of how information comes in through a person’s filter of senses and travels through the brain before thinking begins.  The physical body responds long before the mental thinking can grasp and understand the stimulus.  This is the gold at the core of origins that this somatic empath has found through the integration of her studies and practice.  This is the focus of her perception and opportunities.  It creates autonomy and independence in those situations that influence others somatically and lead them into a lifestyle they never anticipated finding themselves in, however, lusted after once introduced. The lust is somatic. Somatic is the first point of communication.  If you’re not tapped into what it means you end up, where?  Usually a complete loss of everything you have and stood for and in the most unethical and immoral patterns of behaviour.  The mental concepts of it are projections and as bad an influence when not soundly connected at the core of a value system.  This is my perspective based on over three decades of focus, study and practice.  I created these images to visually observe the differences in these energy centers that reflect sensations.  The purpose was for education and as a tool to notice patterns somatically with no stories.  We do not hold stories in our body parts, however, stories will influence how we contract and hold our body parts.  The stories replace the events that actually happened and come back to abuse you over and over each time you tell it to yourself.  It becomes a postural pattern.  A postural pattern is not from one story.  It is not caused by one story.  It is a reaction to events, many of them over a lifetime.  They become the justification of what we do and why.  It’s the blame and shame justification behaviour we have been taught in early childhood education.

This early childhood education is cultural conditioning that predisposes us to act unethically. By adulthood with no training in personal behaviour, leads to what is being modelled in the United States today with the current Court Case against Sean Diddy Combs. In his example, there is evidence coming into the mainstream media of how he obtained power over others through coercion, drugs and promises of wealth. It’s a powerful lesson for all societies currently not preoccupied with war and devasting natural events and have a mask of peace and unity. The patterns emerging from Diddy’s reign of power also happen in smaller communities like ours. It is not an isolated incident. It’s just a different community group with addictions.

The great news is that the stronghold of elitism can be shifted with skill development and retraining of the responses to stimulus. Some call it retaining the brain yet that’s an elusive statement, yet it is precisely what can happen as long as analysis and moral judgements stay out of it. Those are best left for the press conference but not great for the learning environment. That’s the unlearning that needs to take place from my experience. It’s the component that leads to the sex addictions, the drug addictions, the eating addictions, gambling addictions and more…..

Awareness through Intention: Inward Motivated Action

Health & Wellness, Future, Wealth & Abundance, Education & Learning, Relationships, Fame & Recognition

Using patterns to cultivate and increase awareness of one’s inner origins that motivate them through the functions has led to discovering differences in the inspiration from an inside focus and that of externally driven ones. The inner inspired motivation for action deepens the sense of feeling fullness and strength that is balanced mentally, emotionally and physically with confidence, and the energy of the outwardly focused inspiration seems to leave hunger, dissatisfaction and a lack of quality in achievements. One is satisfying and fulfilling while the other is empty, and gloomy usually leaving a deep loneliness or a sense of being lost. As one aligns with their inner origins life is no longer boring, dull and conflicted. There is no need to feed the same addictions that seem to come hand in hand with the emptiness in those not tapped into their own core needs. This picture reflects a quality I have begun to promote with self-care. The techniques I have been focusing on are a feminine quality. For my masculine energies, the same self-care actions can be taken with less focus on the sensuality I suggest for feminine energies. Another successful focus of attention is mindfully integrating goals designed to create new habits. The integrative process or nature of these steps is for retraining the brain and creating new behaviours. It gently turns habits one takes for granted and shifts into new actions. In my personal experience, this is the pattern of transformation.

Some examples are turning a lack of courage into courageousness, boredom into being alive with life, failure into opportunities and steps for building success, etc. It shifts from the fails that go hand in hand with trying to compete or please others into self-actualizing through origins from the inside. After all, it’s an inside job. I was once told in a dark night of the soul experience that I was born alone and would die alone. Hum……..That’s when I realized that even with people I felt alone. It was a huge moment of acceptance and a moment of transformation. People do not speak a language of connection. The connection can only be attained from connection to inner origins. This is the shift away from being a hungry ghost or vampire. lol My perspective only and for learning purposes…….

Awareness through Behaviour: Objectification

Relationship, Health & Wellbeing, Community, Fame, Wealth & Abundance

I wrote a blog post with the following paragraph that I want to highlight and bring attention to. It is in an article on aging. Through the experience of working with an age range focused on the interconnectedness of mental, emotional and physical behaviours with the intent to increase functions this topic plays out in oneโ€™s abilities for tolerance and flexibility. When people age it is presented in oneโ€™s appearance to those who have a trained eye. Whether the victim or perpetrator,  objectification in one’s history is identifiable in functional responses observable through touch, sight and sound.  (felt-sense, visually, or words spoken)

Here it is:

Anyone who attacks another person through words and actions, in the light or the dark, lacks self-esteem, self-confidence, skill sets, maturity and finesse. Their life may be a pursuit of trying to fill the void of loneliness, love and self-love, connection and self-connection, beauty and inner beauty, peace and inner peace, confidence from within that is courageous and outwardly to take right action and more. This imbalance that creates a void has the potential pattern for acquiring things, people, status and lustful deceit to manipulate. It lacks the inner sense of abundance. I witness a lack of connection to the value and quality they place in their acquisitions in these circumstances. There is a disconnect and this is the point that corruption can enter.

This perspective is included in the focus on patterns guided through integrative studies in learning groups and sessions. it will be a topic featured more in-depth through the mentoring programs @ Inside Awareness and in conversations and articles. The duality of how a group of people present themselves in the community & the reality of how people perceive them

Fame & Recognition, Relationships, Community, Learning & Knowledge, Past, Health & Wellness, Abundance & Wealth, Careers, Future

I wrote a blog post with the following paragraphs that I want to highlight and bring attention to. It is in an article on aging. Through the experience of working with an age range focused on the interconnectedness of mental, emotional and physical behaviours with the intent to increase functions this topic plays out in one’s abilities for tolerance and flexibility. When people age it is presented in one’s appearance to those who have a trained eye.

Here goes:

What makes a common person an authority I wonder.  It demonstrated their limited worldview and yet these people would normally consider themselves fair-minded, non-judgemental, non-racist, โ€‹and societal leaders in the community through their careers and interests. These outbursts on someone elseโ€™s character due to the comparisons destroyed the self-image they were portraying in their communities.

This is an experience โ€‹I have in real-time with real interactions in a state of being conscious of it while it is actively being enacted out. I can choose to disengage fully and pull energy back or engage on some level of connection between theโ€‹sโ€‹e โ€‹stages in states of aloofness or full-on engagement. As a healer, teacher, coach and mentor I have learned to become selective in whom I engage with and the effort I put in. It has become an inner sensing of whether the interactive experience will be life-enriching or life-draining.  My objective is to cultivate awareness and learning opportunities so I usually choose to move away from life-draining conditions when there is no opening for change. When there is an openness for change the effort is stimulating and enhances life, however, when thereโ€™s a lack of openness based upon corrupt and hidden views and actions the effort carries a struggle that creates diseased thinking, emotions, bodies and spirituality (cults).

As a somatic and empathic practitioner, teacher, coach and mentor some patterns have shown themselves over 25 years that are relevant to include in the cultural soup for consideration and future development. These have my unique perspective as they mirror the dominant somatic, empathic heart-centered filter I have for interpreting incoming information of environmental stimuli.

This perspective has been a focus of attention in the integrative studies in learning groups and sessions. It is a topic that will be featured more in-depth through the mentoring programs @ Inside Awareness and in conversations and articles. Listening โ€“ Weekly Culture of Values Focus

Culture of Values Focus for this week – Sept 8 to 14, ’24 – Dialogue. Read more @ https://atomic-temporary-16610124.wpcomstaging.com/…/dialogue-weekly-culture…/ #communication #cultureofvalues #universalvalueeducation #feelingsandneedslanguageineducation

Sept 8th to 14th โ€™24

Definition of Listening:

Listening is an action of hearing the sounds in the surroundings.ย  This includes other peopleโ€™s voices. Hearing what others are saying is a way to get to know what is important to them and to learn from them.ย

Remember Dialogues definition from last week:

Dialogue is a conversation with others that increases understanding, addresses problems, and questions thoughts and actions.

Dialogue and Listening are needed to have a balanced conversation of meaning. This balance brings success and achievement for all in relationships equally. When someone speaks they are leading the conversations and the listener is following. To have equality the speaker becomes the listener. This means the listener becomes the speaker. Leadership is a balance of giving and receiving in dialogue.

This pattern was developed from a talking circle.  The format was to go around and ask each participant what the focused value word meant to them.  Sometimes a definition from the dictionary was read out first.  People often did not know the definition meaning.  โ€˜Renee Lindstromโ€™

Weekly Feeling Observations:

Feeling Observations this week

The Culture of Values educational program is available through Amazon. The program includes:

Why? How? When?

The disconnection and detachment with our body parts causes fear, anxiety, panic, irritation, anger and lack true potential in movement

In a post called, “Lost connection with our feet,” I introduced the concept of people often referring to their body parts as a third party in our conversation. Our cultural conditioning leaves the majority of us disconnected from having a focused felt sense of the body parts that keep us upright to stand, walk, run, sit and get up from standing or out of bed. Pain will be felt immediately and that will be the focus of the conversation. People will point to an area where they feel pain usually without the ability to identify the body part, or they will give an incorrect label of the body part they want checked out.

The education that has been a part of our cultural conditioning has lacked focus on the integration of the connected experience through the body. I have found that the focus is on memorizing the names of the muscles, bones and organs rather than focusing attention on the experience of those part’s from a felt sense ability through the transitions of movement. Even suggesting the focus of attention on ones felt senses will be received with varying degrees of experiential understanding and thoughtfulness. The response is usually related to yoga, tai chi, kinesiology, physical therapy or some other exercise patterns versus the actual ability to either visualize the movement or feel the functional aspects of it. There is a blank in understanding and clarity. The mind goes to association with other outside possibilities. As an empathic responder to the environment inside and out this was the hardest gap to bring clarity to for myself and others.

As a Feldenkrais Practitioner this tells me that the person responding back with these comparisons is unable to quiet the mind of memories and analysis long enough to go into feeling the actual functional connected movement patterns inside their body. The mind is actively seeking answers and concepts versus sensing. This is an important concept to distinguish as the two abilities are used for different outcomes. In my experience the analytical comparisons will not support a new pattern of movement that integrates into the brain and body connection via neural pathways. Rather, it will became an artificial strategy creating rigidity and blocking an increase in a range of motion. The expectation created by the thinking and need to know will increase the level of pain, anxiety and pain which will increase the contraction in the muscles and soft tissue intensifying the pain. It will create a contrived pattern of movement that is memorized with the concept of being the right way to do it versus organic spontaneous movement. The rigidity will significantly increase the levels of pain even more and reduce all function due to the levels of fear associated with the pain.

People seek answers and will even ask, is this the right way to….. walk, balance breath, etc., forgetting that as a baby they couldn’t ask anyone. Their movement was free range and more efficient than any current day concept.

This lack of mindful clarity and understanding to the interconnectedness of the physical body creates a disconnect to the skeleton and it’s available core micro movements. In the post mentioned in the first sentence called, “Lost connection with our feet,” the focus was on the functional physical balance. In Chinese medicine the 6 meridians that are focused upon in acupuncture begin in the mouth and end in the feet. This training suggests that the energy is released from the body through the feet into the earth’s gravity. The feet connect the bodies energy to the earth’s gravity. In Feldenkrais the functional perspective of the skeleton is viewed as architectural engineering and the view is how the feet connect with the earth’s gravity by pushing off it. When pushing off the earth the force of the earth’s gravity translates from the feet through the core of the skeleton all the way to the skull. However to experience this efficiently the focus of core movement is through the skeleton, not concepts, muscles, or flow of energy in patterns. These add value to movement, however they cannot create the experience of pushing off from the earth’s gravity.

The dominant force of movement pushing off the earth using the skeleton with the micro movements through the bones and joints tones the muscles. (Not the same as yoga stretches or massage) Muscle development is of value, however not the central core of whole and spontaneous healthy movement. Dominant muscle focus lifts the feet away from the earth that translates into walking separately from, or against, the earth instead of with it. The bones create connection with the earth while the muscles create disconnection.

When someone is walking through the force of the earth’s gravity through the skeleton there is less effort, more flexibility and an increase in resilience. If there is pain in one’s feet there are higher levels of anxiety, irritability, anger and panic. As one limbers up through miro movements, the pain subsides along with irritability, anger and panic.

This Feldenkrais Practitioners perspective of balance begins in the micro movement availability of the skeleton as it responds to the environment. This includes pushing off the earth’s gravity through the bones. As an ex Shoe Store Manager there is some understanding of the cultural conditioning that has evolved through the generations of shoe development.

Lost connection with our feet

As a Feldenkrais Practitioner the lost connection of mankind with their feet is observable in every student’s posture that attends my Awareness through Movement Lessons. One series is called, “Balance and a Fear of Falling.” In one-on-one Functional Integration sessions, it is felt through the movement patterns themselves. After the first lesson in the focused movement class series there will usually be such a huge shift in the individual participants abilities to balance that some students will report this back in the second class. They also seem happy in sharing that there is a drop in their fear levels. I will witness class participants leave their canes behind at the end of the second and third classes which I have to remind them to take with them. By the fourth class they are coming without them.

So, what is the secret? The simplest answer is that Feldenkrais doesn’t focus on the strategy to fix a perceived problem. Most Practitioners don’t get caught up in the ego of philosophies where it becomes about the label, appearance, or fame by being in competition with other modalities. It can be corrupted by those Practitioners that do though who are trying to capture it’s elusive nature and fit it into the preexisting knowledge base of human concepts. Organic learning is not containable in the precepts of the human mind. Moshe was a scientist with a mind that loved to explore learning like an adventure. This is a key element that has been passed down in a good practitioner.

In the Balance class mentioned above our first focus in on feet. The cultural conditioning in our society has caused a lost connection with one and their feet. Time and time again I hear this disconnection in the stories I am told and that I visually see in oneโ€™s response to their own feet. Usually, the speaker addresses their feet as a separate part of themselves. They have no whole connection to them as being a whole part of themselves. This is typical of an analytical process thinker in my experience. Their body parts and functions will be expressed with an outside view in the manner of it being a third party and no attachment. Imagine standing on one’s feet with no attachment to their felt sense.

These cultural conditioning habits of our society are points brought to the surface of attention in our movement lessons, however the emphasis as a Practitioner is on aligning one’s felt senses to the micromovements in the bones associated with the feet. The emphasis is on cultivating awareness, not memorizing one pattern, as one needs many patterns when it comes to balancing.

Currently live group classes happen at #yyj’s Monterey Recreation Centre in Oak Bay. I also work with people privately in person, online, over the phone and yes even by text and email depending upon the needs and travel of students.

Past career segways into understanding the social and cultural conditioning of feet

After a challenging year and a half that ended with the loss of my father, my mother, my lover and letting go of the strong hold of my career, I entered into a year of grace. I landed in #yyj’s Greater Victoria Communities and began living on a sailboat at Fisherman’s Wharf after finally taking a career break never explored previously. This began a journey to reintegrate into my empathic nature and to understand it, Re-emerging into society from a year of retreats and learning with a focus on a new career direction as a store manager ended up being with a shoe chain. Working for Naturalizer as store manager for stores at both Hillside and Mayfair Malls became quite an opportunity to explore the human conditioning with one’s feet. In a deep empathetic state while viewing the shape of peopleโ€™s feet had a giant impact. This experience is a key foundational understanding I tap into when working on balance and cultural conditioning with my students. I am not a salesperson by nature and couldn’t consciously sell to people something through manipulation, so it was a short career. Even the carrot of taking on Regional Manager for B.C. wasn’t far enough removed from that behavioural conditioning.
