Goal setting New Moon to New Moon for April/May, 2020

Each new moon is an opportunity for a start fresh and new beginning.  It’s a nightly reflection that models a pattern that we all can observe as it transforms crossing  the night sky.   Generations have used the moon calendar for guidance and have associated its changing reflections with different qualities.  Qualities that we can now harness to break free of the old stories that may be holding us prisoner to the past.  Following the 8 phases of the moon to do a personal check in can retrain our mind to respond with more flexibility and assertiveness.  Making choices and taking actions will be inspired  resulting in increased inner motivation.

A practical way to cultivate balance for a happier & possibly more beautiful life

Creating life balance consciously put’s you in the drivers seat.   Dr. Marshall Rosenberg, author of Nonviolent Communication, broke down the conditions that creates a lack of power in ones world.  One of these conditions is giving authority over to some unseen source.  Giving one’s power away disconnects one from their inner support and experiencing joy and happiness in life itself.

This workbook is the start to harnessing your focus and aiming it at the parts that make up your life.  In this model there are nine life areas to bring focus to equally for  balance and harmony.  This exercise replaces the stories one tells themselves with checking in to explore intention for creating choices.

Remaining in the stories increases their hold that nurtures hopelessness and futility.  Stopping to define the life you want to create brings hope and anticipation.

This practical life exercise can be applied to personal transformation and adapted into family life, and businesses.  Imagine how this template focus can  cultivate a deeper connection and experience to the things that really matter.  The things that bring success, joy and harmony.  For example:

A mom pausing to center and consciously define her current focus while considering if it is meeting her needs.  What areas can shift her attention to balance out the life energy that may be dominated by one or two areas?

Awareness is the doorway to personal transformation.

Her second step is to consider her families experience separately from the first step.  The first step is focused upon personal transformation.   Yes your are reading this correctly.  Her personal needs are separate from her whole family needs.  If she is not taking care of herself, her family will not thrive.  Interdependence is an important role model for children.  This doesn’t translate into  selfishness, rather it decreases it.  As she  lays this template over the current family experience the  areas not receiving equal attention can be tweaked from her growing awareness  of  differences between what is currently happening and her inner definition of family and home life.

Another example is in the work place.  This is a model that could bring employees and employers into alignment with the values of the company.  To begin it would be an individual exercise of reflecting on ones own needs for each area and then once again to reflect on how they are contributing to the companies nine life areas.   Some sample questions equally important for the employer and employee are:

Employees

Are they contributing to their own needs for fame at the expense of co-workers and the business themselves?

Are they meeting their needs for financial wages only while not interested in this job as a career?  If so, how is this contributing to the moral and shared values of the company?

Business Owner

Is the employer interested in a healthy work space that influences the mental, emotional and physical health of the employees? This question would require a reflection of ALL nine life areas as each one pertains to overall functional health of a business.

Harnessing the Power of the Moon for turning illusive intentions into obvious goals

When it comes to the moon almanac two phases of action are reflected by the growing and diminishing moon. These are cycles that bookend the New and Full Moons called waning and waxing cycles.

New Moon event meaning:
The new moon is the beginning of the lunar cycle when the moon is in line with the sun and the earth. The moon is not visible during this alignment leaving us with a black sky.  This moon event represents a new beginning and rejuvenation.

Traditionally this time is known as the best time for making changes for personal growth including beauty, health, skills and for adding new relationships or finding new employment.

Waxing Moon Cycle meaning:

The waxing moon is the time between the new moon and the full moon. Every night after the new moon it gets a little larger.  This is a time for action to meet ones needs for creativity and aspirations.  Taking actions can increase ones courage and motivation.

Full Moon event meaning:  

The Moon is at its most powerful at this time.  Even though the full moon only truly occurs for one night out of the entire lunar cycle you can harness the energy of the full moon for about 2 days before or after the night the moon is truly full.

Traditionally the full moon has been a time for making concrete decisions and taking action.  It reflects completion and makes a statement, “it is done.”  It is also a time of passion, romance, love and fertility.

Waning Moon cycle meaning:

This is when the moon begins to get smaller in the sky.  This reflects a time to reduce clutter and remove old habits like smoking, overeating, other addictions and bad relationships.

What is your intended project for tomorrows New Moon?

A new moon is the start of the moon’s new journey through the star formations.  Following the moon’s journey for turning intentions into goals is reflective of a  guided pattern for moving forward similar to walking a labyrinth.

 

Following the 8 phases of the moon can become a pathway for retraining behaviours based upon  held believes, stuck emotions and personal inabilities for organized actions.   Like a labyrinth it is a guide for cultivating conscious action which isn’t fickle, mean or judging.

Both these guided systems are a pathway forward for cultivating mental, emotional and physical balance and awareness through learning that goes beyond the conflict of past right and wrong memories and thoughts.  It is in present time, doable and productive.  The simplicity of these guided patterns increase ease, self-confidence and connection turning disconnection into felt-sense connection and effort into effortlessness.

Setting goals with the Moon

Imagine naturally shifting from hesitation to action spontaneously without thought, or hearing the power and control of someone’s perspective and simply letting it slide off understanding that it is a perspective that it not yours.  Why would it slide off?  Develop the resilience through the 8 phases would extend to increasing your ability to not take what others say personally.  You would begin to understand that they are expressing their interpretation in a tragic way of being an authority, however, not yours, changing your energy behind your actions sending them a message changing the interaction.  This guided pattern of learning action  increases self-confidence,  self-empathy and expands personal believes on oneself.

Associative education began when eyes turned to the skies with intention to study the movement of the stars, sun and moon.  As first recognition was made of movement in the sky with the inclination to observe it, the study to associate  experience through the changing phases was begun.  Observing the sky and  shapes and designs of nature on earth was the start of organizing the brain to solve puzzles, duplicate what one sees with hand co-ordination (copy/memorize) and create math and science.   Observing the natural world and associating experience that was or had happened was the beginning of  interpretations and organized beliefs.
