THERE IS TALKING GREEN AND THEN THERE IS WALKING GREEN

Green relationshipsAn attitude of green is the commitment to practice listening to what is meaningful inside and the willingness to hear others before drawing conclusions. Green isn’t one side trumps the other..   Green is inclusive, it isn’t exclusive.  It holds everyone and everything equally.   Our values are not in conflict, our solutions are in conflict.

Green meets humanities needs. It is a space within that connects us to the value of life and the willingness for balance in giving back so everyone and everything thrive’s.  It is a natural cycle of giving and receiving that turns as the turning of night and day.  Imagine the moon and sun falling out of balance with one becoming dominate and one lesser than.

It requires tolerance and balanced lifestyles to increase mindfulness and patience to make better choices and find ways to resolve differences.  Some ways to consider achieving effective day to day balance and enrich life for those times that seem helpless follow:

Communication & Movement for Mindful Awareness for Adults

4 Personal Commitments for effective ‘Green Communication’

1.  Self Reflection:

  • identifying felt sensory awareness (sensing, feeling, emotions)  while noticing thoughts, opinions, believes and interpretations and letting them go

 2.  Speaking honestly:

  • about how you are affected and not what you think

 3.  Willingness to set aside differences:

  • hearing how others are affected  (conflict is at the level of  belief, thoughts, opinions and personal interpretations)

4.  Identifying and connecting to values before solutions:

  • After first three steps, then and only then,  develop solutions based on every-ones input and ideas.

The 4 Commitments of Green Movement

The goal in this style of movement is spontaneity.  This is achieved through these four commitments.

1.  Commitment to Stop and Check in

Commitment to slow down and stop

2.  Transition from thinking to sensing

Mindful focus on  your inner sensations from the inside out

3.  Exploring with curiosity

Curiously explore your movement actions and reactions

4.  Practice to integrate

This movement is a system that increases inner wisdom of all aspects of self.  It is not a first aid nor a philosophical path.  It is reuniting of whole movement interrupted through the generalized and institutionalized educational system.

Movement Options:

SOMATIC MOVEMENT

CONTEMPLATIVE MINDFUL MOVEMENT

  •  Labyrinth’s  – pathway in to heart center connection and back out

Social Change: “Experience is possibly the highest order of existence”

download (13)

Meaningful change happens when a tribe of bodies in alignment with each other begin to manifest together.  Positive change can happen with the coming together of those who share similar connection beliefs such as acceptance, empathy, direct expressions of honesty, respect, consideration and acknowledgement.  The willingness to listen to each others needs will show up in the creation of concrete solutions for the sustainability of  life and the planet. Why? It is about growing and expanding not controlling.

There is only experience, and nothing else.  It is how you experience that is important, not the end point.  It is about the journey on the way.  You will know which community is your tribe through the experience of being enriched or drained.

The question becomes then, can you tell soon enough which state you are experiencing and move to the one that serves you better? or, do you like struggle as it is familiar, therefore stay stuck in the mud as it is familiar?

Cultural Comparisons poses a question: If we….would it be harder for hierarchical agencies to entrap or beguile us in their insidious planning?

A comparison of cultures came up in a recent group discussion. A member was integrating a system of thinking/talking that could begin to create equality for understanding differences and they compared their culture to ours and identified theirs as being  harder to work with (in this way of making changes).

This member described the  hierarchical nature of their culture and I recognized that my (Western Canadian) culture does not wear its dominant nature on its sleeve.    I realized that some cultures have a strong hierarchical ancestral self-image that can be witnessed, identified and easily understood.  My culture on the other hand does not outwardly discuss this, nor do we usually have ancestors living in close proximity.

Generally speaking,  our family culture may only focus on the current generation, unlike some cultures that go back generations.  Never the less  our parents and older siblings hold a similar dominant power-over position.  It may be too close an experience with our first family and not identified as in these other cultures where the parents are still experiencing the same behavior as their children!  Therefore it is a shared and discussed more openly with a  developed intellectual understanding and acceptance.  For us,  it is not as easy to understand intellectually in the moment as we lack the shared experience with our parents therefore we do not have anyone to empathize with us.

I believe that in my Western Canadian Culture it is not unlike a description of Gandhi’s to his grandson on acts of violence.  Gandhi explained that physical violence could be seen and witnessed, therefore addressed.  It was the hidden forms of violence that are insidious acts and harder to define and understand.

Are we as Canadians ready to openly observe and discuss our natures and be identified with more ease?  I am curious, that if we did open up and readily talk about these patterns without the blame, shame and embarrassment (feeling experiences that I don’t see in these other cultures),  if it would make it any harder for hierarchical agencies to entrap or beguile us in their insidious planning.

I love what I do!  Exploring with curiosity is an open door to learning beyond what I think I know!
