A society grows through the social conditioning of past experiences. A health society emerges through recognition and reflection on the social conditioning of the past. The present is built on the past and it creates future experiences.

Acknowledging the past with the least amount of emotional and mental attachment supports an experience with more clarity and increased mindfulness. These qualities support attracting the future you long for in relationships at home and work. Unresolved emotions of the past are inspired by guilt, and the future is fear. Stories from your past may not be pleasant, yet the question is do you want to drag them into your future? This area of ancestors reflects your family tree or lineage. In Western society, there isn’t the same acknowledgement given to ancestors as in other cultures that observe seven years past and seven years in the future as determining the health and well-being of the family lineage. Our society could learn the cycle of karma that is influenced by our focus of attention on our elders.

Cultural Conditioning

Cultural conditioning refers to the process by which individuals learn and adopt beliefs, values, and behaviours of their family lineage, educational institutions, community groups, work groups and trends through social media and entertainment. It includes formal conditioning through religious and faith-based educational models of ethical behaviours and core values.

Beliefs

Beliefs are learned from those in the early development environment. This includes family beliefs passed down through generations and influences in extended community experiences. This includes extended family and friend groups, educational institutions and religious organizations. In later years, it would include government institutions, organizations and work communities.

Values

Values are universal, and each country will have a system of following a cultural value system. Each family lineage will have a value system based on learned ancestral behaviour and current family influences. Children with both parents will have two family cultures merging, expanding the family’s cultural influences from both sides.

Responsive behaviours

Responsive behaviours are learned through early family experiences. It would include the educational model of family members’ responsive behaviours experienced in early development.

The Focus at the Inside Awareness Center of Integrative Somatic Learning

Here at Inside Awareness, the focus on the past is an imperative component in the somatic education learning programs. Habitual learning can become an obstacle to one’s focus in a current experience that can block potential and quality. Past influences have proven to be constraints to a mindful lifestyle. The key element in learning to live a life of mindfulness is learning to differentiate the past from the current experience.

Another learning focus specific to honouring the ancestors to generate a sacred connection to origins is to expand personal connections to family values. In work or community environments, the focus would be on the early vision or mission statements. If no mission statements, the intention of the business or organization will be considered.

Integrative Somatic Educational Patterns for cultivating universal value responses and reducing reactions for health and well-being in relationships.

Practical skill development that defines and integrates values using patterns to enhance and improve focus of attention for personal development.

Culture of Values is an integrative educational component at the Inside Awareness Center for Integrative Somatic Learning. It is not faith or religious bases, rather it is linked to the origins of human response. The definition of the values is a focus from a behavioural perspective. The integration of one’s value consciously links one to core intention in every action. It supports better decisions, improved relationships, and the potential for increased success and a happier life.
