Awareness connects the two.
In early history, wealth would have been defined differently than it is now. It may well have been perceived through the harvest of plants, herbs and animal skins—all the requirements for survival. Wealth stimulates basic survival responses in our society, especially with the shift to technology and its quick evolution. Financial behaviour has shifted many times over the past twenty years leaving some demographics in the dust. Cyber theft has become common and is treated as employment. The threats of cyber theft, homelessness and poverty are two conditions that have amped up causing a wave of scarcity thinking and fear-based emotions.
An aspect missing in the descriptions of wealth and scarcity above is abundance. Wealth can be experienced and drawn in through the energy of abundance which has a different energy and intention than the actions of emotional scarcity. Scarcity thinking creates victim or bullying mentalities while abundance creates appreciation and gratefulness.
Inside Awareness Educational programs focus on transforming the social conditioning around wealth and its stimulus to emotional reactions influencing behaviours that are a dominant contributor to mental, emotional and physical well-being. The intention of shining the light on transitioning from scarcity to abundance is due to the responsive reactions in one’s physicality and function that limit spontaneity, flexible movement and mindfulness.
Fear comes with a focus on wealth that doesn’t include commonly shared values of appreciation, respect, gratitude, fairness, reciprocity and charity. For learning purposes, it is in the category of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs that reflects survival. If someone stays in this baseline experience they can easily harm others in their need to acquire wealth to survive. Unfortunately, even with acquiring wealth if the origins of what drives them don’t change, the behaviour doesn’t change. Not only are they harming others, but they are also hurting themselves from the inside out, literally. It can be felt in how they contract inside to physically function. It can be heard in their personal inner stories and how they express themselves to others, and it is seen in their appearance.
