THERE IS TALKING GREEN AND THEN THERE IS WALKING GREEN

Green relationshipsAn attitude of green is the commitment to practice listening to what is meaningful inside and the willingness to hear others before drawing conclusions. Green isn’t one side trumps the other..   Green is inclusive, it isn’t exclusive.  It holds everyone and everything equally.   Our values are not in conflict, our solutions are in conflict.

Green meets humanities needs. It is a space within that connects us to the value of life and the willingness for balance in giving back so everyone and everything thrive’s.  It is a natural cycle of giving and receiving that turns as the turning of night and day.  Imagine the moon and sun falling out of balance with one becoming dominate and one lesser than.

It requires tolerance and balanced lifestyles to increase mindfulness and patience to make better choices and find ways to resolve differences.  Some ways to consider achieving effective day to day balance and enrich life for those times that seem helpless follow:

Setting intentions for next year!

Three points for success with setting your goals and keeping them:

  • include a balanced view of all your life areas while setting your goals:  heath, wealth, fame, love, creative, future, community, career, personal development, ecology
  • connect to the roots of your desire for a meaningful incentive to stick to them
  • create an environment for success

Balance between

mind (solving puzzles) &

mindfulness (spaciousness)

Maze Labyrinth Hearts

A maze is a puzzle and can be confusing. It reflects challenge and requires mind solving focus versus mindfulness! Have you considered how mindfulness supports and balances mind solving skills? Too much challenge can create limited focus and panic. A pathway that leads to mindfulness creates open space for increased brain power for meeting and navigating challenges!

Communication & Movement for Mindful Awareness for Adults

4 Personal Commitments for effective ‘Green Communication’

1.  Self Reflection:

  • identifying felt sensory awareness (sensing, feeling, emotions)  while noticing thoughts, opinions, believes and interpretations and letting them go

 2.  Speaking honestly:

  • about how you are affected and not what you think

 3.  Willingness to set aside differences:

  • hearing how others are affected  (conflict is at the level of  belief, thoughts, opinions and personal interpretations)

4.  Identifying and connecting to values before solutions:

  • After first three steps, then and only then,  develop solutions based on every-ones input and ideas.

‘Values in the work space’ – Improve communication in business

Integrating values in the work space and learning a values spoken language brings immediate results.  This system of learning has proven it will save time and money in the long run.  It will cut unproductive time spent to justify ones actions to prove who is right or wrong and replace water cooler gossip, that creates enemies,  with skills to speak up effectively in the moment. The roots of  discontent always comes back to misinterpretation of information at the time of any circumstance and the lack of skills to inquire for more information before drawing conclusions.  Without this there is only one unethical behavior option, reaction!

This business model continues to prove to me that it develops trust and safety for being honest and being heard.  What I am witnessing is a model of personal mediation that reflects courage for speaking ones truth in the moment and with ease!  Breaking through an old school concept of not being outspoken to be nice is replaced with true kindness to the organization.

In these long-term business integration sessions that have following introductory workshops,  I get to witness the participants breaking through the barriers of  those who ‘think they know everything,” and those ‘who never speak up.’  Those who think they know go beyond this self-induced wall of limited thinking and those who never speak up begin to make their presence known.  The result is more connection and less resentment.  Those who preach and tell stories are doing less of this and those who quietly listen to the stories and preaching to be ‘kind’ are doing so less.  It is eliminating the resentment and freeing up time for productive action.

As a facilitator it is very rewarding to engage and observe this transition that becomes  ‘deepened mediation in the moment.’  This model can cut through frustration immediately and end lengthy meetings trying to resolve and process reactions.  When you think about it, restorative justice is focused upon reactions of those who did not know who to speak up for themselves in the moment to get the results they longed for!

Employers, bosses and employees:  why are you not all focused upon understanding why we are having reactions and being honest in the moment?   Why wait until being disciplined or sitting around a tribunal?  Radical!

Entering the Century of Dialogue

Universal Intention - accepting the challenges of today and taking action

Universal Intention – accepting the challenges of today and taking action

A historic event was unfolding over Peace Weekend, Sept 20 & 21 ’14. The Dali Lama gathered the 9 religion’s of India together to discuss secular ethics and the environment of the world!

The Dali Lama declared the this Century the Century of Peace and how to achieve it – a Century of Dialogue!

Renee of Inside  was inspired to create this image as she listened to the plenary sessions of this historic gathering. The leaders of the nine religions in India gathering together for a dialogue. What Renee heard from these leaders was in tune with her philosophy and life’s passion. Peace will only come through mindful dialogue. The three things she enjoyed hearing from these sessions was: 1. We are all the same. there is no difference between us. 2. We all need two things, grain and clean water. 3. If the water is polluted??????, If there is no grain??????

Inside perspective of  why does a century of peace depend upon a century of dialogue?

Peace comes from learning how to build a friendship based upon trust. Good friends are ones that have experienced you as trustworthy.  Bad friends are ones who have learned not to not trust you through experience. What determines trustworthy behavior?  Ethical behavior based upon shared values.

Values are universal and shared by all people.  We are  all the same and  we share the  same qualities of  human function.  These qualities are the four aspects of self;  mental, emotional, physical  and belief.  We all have the same needs for relationships,  survival and happiness and are entitled to achieve happiness in our life.  We are all entitled to relationships built upon respect and equality.

How can we create a culture of ethical behavior?  Through education, practice and commitment.  It begins with accepting the challenge and taking action.  It is only through personal change that one can be the change they want to see in the world.

A great starting point is learning a vocabulary of values.   Inside value programs are designed to start where you are and available for personal development, for the office, organization and education institution.  They are available for both adults and children.
