Business leadership: How valuable are you to others?

How much do  you contribute?
and
How valuable are you to others?
Sometimes we take actions in our work environment that we have not stopped to consider.  For example, doing  just what needs to be done to get by, putting in time waiting for the next break or maybe going the extra mile to achieve success. A choice is always  being made and totally obvious to those around you.
TWO TYPES OF ACTIONS
  • Core Actions have a greater, long term impact with great outcome of success described as doing what it takes to achieve a better outcome.
  • Surface Actions keep you busy with limited success sometimes described as going through the motions and hiding behind activities.

getting InTouch techniques can influence employers and employees by shifting surface actions into core actions for stellar results.  This includes learning how surface actions create conflicts….It begins with personal commitments for change. Yes that is you!

A new kind of thinking………

Meditation is a new kind of thinking, a way of leaving behind the physical brain, which can only reflect the material world in its outer aspect……Meditations is the intensification of intelligence, the warmth and light withing things.  Picture- making or imagining unfolds from the a tion of mediation.  Images are reflection of the warmth of meditation, they are a reflective intelligence.

Esquimalt Gorge Park is located on the Gorge Waterway in historic Esquimalt, British Columbia.  When the park was developed more than 100 years ago, a key attraction was the establishment of North America’s first Japanese Garden. The Garden was originally designed by Isaburo Kishida in 1907. The Takata family operated a very successful Tea House in the gardens for many years until 1941 when Canadian citizens of Japanese ancestry were sent to internment camps.

Purpose and the New Moon

This week the value changes from purpose into support during a new moon phase.  In Tibetan Buddhism the New Moon is a time to breathe in to a calm state and watch your emotions come and go.  It is also is a time for contemplating your true purpose.

  • Why are you here?
  • What do you want to do with your life?
  • What do you want to accomplish?

If you pause to consider your purpose take a moment and consider your nine live areas.  You may have one or two that speaks to you more loudly that the others, yet give a moments thought to each area. Note that each life area may represent the best seasons for certain changes and ecology focuses.

1.  Fame

  • Ecology Element – Fire Resources
  • Season – Summer
  • Quality – Attachment

2.  Health of Self and Family, Animals

  • Ecology Element – Earth
  • Season – Summer into Fall transition
  • Quality – Submission

3.  Relationship – Intimate

4.  Future, Creativity, Children

  • Ecology Element – Metal
  • Season – Fall (Harvest)
  • Quality – Delight

5.  Helpful People, Community

  • Season – Fall into Winter transition
  • Quality – Vigour

6.  Career

  • Ecology Element – Water
  • Season – Winter
  • Quality- Quietening

7.  Education, Learning, Faith

  • Season – Winter Into Spring transition (Seeds)

8.  Ancestors, Pasts

  • Ecology Element – Forest, Plants
  • Season – Spring (Growth)
  • Quality –  movement

9.  Wealth, Abundance

Facilitating couple groups is a powerful experience….

RelationshipDialogue series for couples wrapped up last night for the summer. It ended on an honest note of expressing how this experience was for people in the group and how to move forward with options for practice and future connection. We focused on how if you don’t use it you lose it!  This means if you are shifting your conscious awareness one sentence at a time, you need a tribe to practice with for support to stay in connection and develop different speaking habits. This begs the question, do you have a practice tribe that is committed to expressing honestly and listening with empathy in a way that provides the witnessing and acceptance that is needed for a shift in behavior to happen?

Working with couples in a group like this has been one of the most powerful experiences I have had in facilitating learning groups for shifting consciousness and behavior awareness one sentence at a time. It has allowed me a glimmer into how deeply we love and in turn feel pain when we become enemies in our inability to relate, understand and equally hear each others point or perspective. Think about the power in our personal coupling.  After-all,  it is our parents coupling relationship that shaped us, how we feel, think, react, love, fight, hate….

Unknown Journey……..

There is a meaning in every journey that is unknown to the traveler.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Healing the world through human doing…..

If the world is to be healed through human efforts, I am convinced it will be by ordinary people, people whose love for this life is even greater than their fear.  People who can open to the web of life that called us into being and who can rest in the vitality of that larger body.
