How do you learn? Where do your emotions and thoughts come from?

#1.  You are borne into an environment

This is how a culture is formed!

#2.  You have the INHERENT ability to learn INDEPENDENTLY stimulated and shaped by your environment

summer-620x349

First learning is inspired through movement!

If your environment is safe, open and free your thoughts, emotions, movements and  behavior will reflect these qualities.  You will likely be more flexible in your actions.  However if your environment is a prison filled with hate and poverty your thoughts and behavior will reflect these qualities!  You will likely be more conservative and restricted in your actions.

The good news is you never stop learning!  You have the ability to change your own conditions through awareness techniques and skill building that will create the environment for your own future generations!  Change the future by shifting the past, now in conscious presence.

Make a difference.  It begins with you!

Why?  836996

To go beyond the imposed constraints and false emotional realities,

To support a healthier culture that cares for themselves, others and the planet equally.

To live as though values matter,

By speaking your values creating autonomy

and valuing others values equally creating interdependence!

To use gravity effectively to attain balance, consider your bones as the structure of support in the design of your body, and values as the structure of support in your relationships.

The Mask

The Mask
tragicmask

Always a mask

Held in the slim hand whitely

Always she had a mask before her face —

Truly the wrist

Holding it lightly

Fitted the task:

Sometimes however

Was there a shiver,

fingertip quiver,

Ever so slightly —

Holding the mask?

For years and years and years I wondered

But dared not ask

And then —

I blundered,

Looked behind the mask,

To find

Nothing —

She had no face.

She had become

Merely a hand

Holding a mask

With grace.

‘Imagine Communication workshop being compared to yoga!’

Attendee compared the centered groundedness at the end of our Saturday workshop to how she felt after her yoga sessions. Imagine mindfulness communication with a focus on behavior achieving this!

Sweetly surprised by receiving my own valentines flowers!

So focused on sharing valentines day ideas these past few weeks I didn’t think about my own special day!  When the door bell rang and this beautiful flower arrangement was waiting, I was happily surprised.DSC_0289  The feelings it stimulated so sweet it is hard to express with words!  Of course the first thing that came to mind was to consider the secret language of the flowers. I knew that roses meant love.  However,  what was the significance of pink roses?  Checking, I discover it is desire, passion, joy of life, youth, energy.   What a nice expression.  I am in need of enjoying these qualities!  Explore how to  find out more about the secret language of your flowers.

Your Jaw and you

Renee Lindstrom's avatarInside Awareness Center for Integrative Somatic Learning

Jaw Jaw

How many of you are familiar with your jaw?  If so, is it because it is tight, sensitive, painful or locked?

This week I worked with a client whose legs started shaking dramatically when massaging their tense jaw.  She had chronically locked her jaw so tightly that it affected how she supported herself through her legs.  Later she mentioned that her walking improved!  Imagine that?

Another client coming to discuss walking explained to me they had surgery on their jaw as a teenager.  Apparently wearing braces had changed the position of their lower jaw.  When the braces came off the teeth were straight but the upper jaw was quite a bit forward of the lower jaw.  The over bite fix was tragic! Breaking the jaw and moving it forward.  Wow, at no time did anyone consider simple learning exercises for releasing the jaw may reduce the need surgery?

Come…
