The Month of Romance and Love: #6 of 14 Tips for finding better love

by Renee Lindstrom, GCFP @ Inside Awareness

#6  How you love is how you are loved

If you love through sex, you will be loved only for sex.  If you love money, you will only be loved forever by how long you have value to the financier.  If you love to be taken care of, you are loved until the novelty of loving you wears off!  However, if you are clear on your needs in a relationship and your love is expansive, you will receive back deeper everlasting love.

Love Day 6Tip of the Day:

Write down 5 things that you love and are loved in return for.  For example:  You are caring, therefore cared for.

“Love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is done well.”    Vincent Van Gogh

Great day for prioritizing ‘love’

celebrate badge coloredThe emphasis for ‘love’ has started!  The wheel of marketing has rolled into February’s celebration focus of ‘love.’  Everyone can admit this focus is bringing us into acute awareness  of our unique experience of love!  I say, “Use this energy and prioritize your need for ‘love.’  Why?

.

  • If you are single and looking for love it is your primary focus, regardless of your day activities!
  • If you are married your thoughts throughout the day include whatever your experience is with your partner!  If you have feelings that are dissatisfied you wear this tension in the same way as if your feelings are those of being satisfied in your relationship.

Start today as the calendar marches into February!  Take a few minutes and consider what is important to you in “love.’  Check out our definition of love first and consider how these needs could be met in you most important relationship of your life.

Looking for Love:

  • Start by reflecting upon what is important to you in a partner.
  • Wake up to what your needs are in a partnership.

Already found you love and looking for improving your experience:

  • Start by reflecting upon what is important to you as a partner. (Try and stay out of the comparing what is happening in your relationships and check in to define your needs)
  • Wake up to what your needs are in a partnership.

*Please know that this is recommended for both great and not so great relationship experiences.  It increases your awareness of the good and bad times consciously.

The Month of Romance and Love: #1 of 14 Tips for finding better love

The Feast day of Saint Valentine’s is the celebrations of love and affection.  It is celebrated on February 14th which has become the second highest record holder for new engagements!  The first is Christmas Eve.

Love Day 1-14If you are looking for meaningful love, explore ways to satisfy your love needs.  This of course begins with defining what your needs are!

 Define your longing

Write out what your goals are for a satisfying relationship with the most important person in your life – your (new)  partner.  Not sure where to start?  Look at some of the life area suggestions below.  Remember that the interactions in relationships are 50% giving and 50% receiving.  The commitment to the relationship is 100%!

“I love you not because of who you are, but because of who I am when I am with you.”
