Announcement for 2026

Center for Inside Awareness Channel on YouTube

I sent this news out to my students today.

I wanted to share some updates with you that I may not have brought up outside of our focused integrations sessions, whether in movement, communication/relationships or spatialย awareness and placements.ย  For the past ten to 15 years years I have been integrating the interplay between these areas with a deeper focus on habitual or automatic behaviours and choices.ย  For the pastย two year’s this has shifted to writing it out in an organized way.ย  Beginning with the Learning Center Topics, starting with separatingย the nine life areas with an eye on behaviour and interactions.ย  There are somatic programs in each of these nine life areas to support the topic they are categorized under. Many of you may have participated in.

In 2026,  I will be launching a new system of interactive patterns in expressive communication where this separation of life areas will be a core focal point in the model.  These practical and actional patterns support an authentic somatic and empathic perspective.  As written by an actual somatic empath living within their interactive experiences 24/7.  Trust me, somatic and empathic expression in behaviour is not based upon the outside strategies of someone trying to describe them.  It is one of the influences towards developing a somatic learning system that goes beyond what is being described in current social conditioning trends.

A companion book titled  ‘Somatic Archetypes’ will be available.  This will be a foundation pattern to support a practical reference to core reactive responses.  Practical in that they will focus on actionable somatic understanding and not have any focus on evaluative expressions or right or wrong thinking.  The intention is to marry this understanding in active interactions in the moment.  The shift includes somatic engagement, versus old thinking patterns of social conditioning that shifted focus away from it in organized institutionalized education.

A new understanding of social conditioning has emerged with a powerful influence to cut through a term I learned in meditation, spiritual materialism. This is a result of the practices of functional integration and mentoring in how to speak authentically and with integrity that began in 2002. Spiritual materialism is an evaluative expression for the ego self-image.  In Feldenkrais, there is an understanding of an inner felt self-image that supports a new defining inner experience of it that isn’t built up through socially conditioned learned reactions that are focused on materialism through strategies.  Rather, it has a focus on being present from within and sensing from the inside first before outward actions of functional movement or spoken words. This means leading through the felt senses consciously to replace leading through thinking.

Renee Lindstrom @somaticlifestyleinnovator Channel on YouTube

To support this upcoming launch, I have put my YouTube playlists in order. I have three channels. One has playlists to support the topics of the Inside Awareness Center for Integrative Somatic Learning. (Pictured above).  This includes the nine life areas broken into separate playlists. ie. Feldenkrais is in the Health Center. It is joined by Communication and Eating Plans. In these playlists, you will see early attempts to engage people to shift their focus of attention. For example, the #yyj Nature Walks, which is under the playlist of knowledge. There is also the Culture of Value program for early childhood development in that playlist that demonstrates the first stages of its development. The other channel is in my name, and it is for somatic innovation. The focus was to connect to the environmental triggers that stimulate types of behaviour to educate.

Podcast

Finally, the third just started this past summer and fall, is my podcast.  Currently, it is voice audios of articles I have written to lay a foundation.  It will evolve and expand to include lives and interviews.

As a dominant somatic empathic learner myself, I have first-hand experience in the alienation of children and adults with these learning styles. There is very little consideration given to the value of these learning styles and in fact, they are categorized, labelled and diagnosed as conditions, with an aim to drug and eradicate the differences they display to the expectation in the tightly defined patterns of Institutionalized education. Patterns that were designed for learning concepts with ease and little variance in the organized structure. This cognitive focus included debate-style communication development that lacked empathy training. In this context, empathy training is the skill development for good listening patterns where the core inner response is an interactive, flexible, and open-minded process, versus the closed-mindedness that results from judging the context of what is being heard as right and wrong based upon personal judgment and understanding.

The programs at the Inside Awareness Center for Integrative Somatic Learning are focused on a mindfulness that balances both sets of needs of the cognitive style interpretation, and the somatic and empathic. It harnesses all components through functional integration of the physical body working in partnership with the emotional responses that generate the filter for thinking.

The intention for these YouTube platforms is to build an audience and to develop financial opportunities that will support this focus on somatic education.. Until now, I have funded it with my time and energy. I look forward to taking it to the next level. I am hoping you will consider viewing my channels, liking and subscribing to help build this lofty goal. If the content appeals to you, I hope you will share it to support getting a buzz going on these topics.

The following are the links to the YouTube channels. Please keep in mind, these are early developments that have been a learning process and for the process to grow a level of comfort and ease in being on stage. The last link is to a page on the Inside Awareness Center for Integrative Somatic learning explaining the nine life areas that are the core foundation in my perspective of functional integration, somatic dialogue and spatial awareness.

Community Bullying 101

Power over dynamics

As a mature woman, in a casual work and connected home environment, I found myself in an experience of being bullied by another mature business woman in a group of women that ranged in age from young with small children themselves, to those older than them. These women’s behaviour repeated the same patterns that small children demonstrate at the toddler stage when parents and early childhood educators are tasked with modelling how to navigate their triggers to process their reactive feelings and resolve them within themselves before lashing out and harming others. These mothers and grandmothers did not demonstrate the skills or ability to slow down their emotional escalation before focusing on resolving issues that led up to their reactions. It suggests that they had not integrated these skill sets themselves. Keep in mind that these were mothers, grandmothers and aunties of children who were the core educators modelling learned behaviours within their family and community units.

Let me introduce myself

My name is Renee Lindstrom, and I have been focused on educational programs for bullying since arriving in Victoria 35 years ago. This focus of attention has been from a somatic empathic perspective and not at the typical vantage point of strategies and analysis of the behaviours. This suggests the focus has been on the practical steps of integration at the core internalized behavioural level.

The two options:

  • Labelling the behaviours and speaking about them to create strategies with no inner accountability
  • Slowing down the emotional reaction on the inside first to identify the internal stimulus and connect to the causation of the trigger before responding (taking accountability)

More about these two options

These two bullet points suggest that one pattern has a focus of analysis while still in a triggered reactive state. This suggests attention is aimed outward at others without any self-connection first. This suggests it is a position of denial and lacks any personal responsibility. This leads to a projection that lacks logic and empathy in the responses.

The other option begins with an inside focus for checking into oneself first to connect to the internal source of the trigger to calm reactions down before connecting to outside solutions. This option contains self-empathy first to connect to the source of the trigger response before any outside actions are taken. This increases the potential for balanced fairness and equal opportunity in the outcomes.

Back to the introduction of Renee Lindstrom

The first educational choices for navigating experiential learning techniques for deeper clarity and understanding from a somatic empathic viewpoint came through movement and meditation. The mediation I engaged in opened an opportunity to study Feng Shui that aligned with the core syllabus of the meditation practice I was integrating. This led to an intensive dive into Nonviolent Communication guided patterns created by Dr. Marshall Rosenberg, Phd, and author of Nonviolent Communication.

My focus on teaching NVC began in 2007 after 7 years of personal study and integration with a focus on the areas of bullying and relationships. I taught, presented and organized events actively in our Greater Victoria Communities in Juan de Fuca, James Bay, Oak Bay, Greater Victoria, and Saanich. It included the focus of primary couple relationships, families, parenting, peers in the workplace and primary education.

Back to the experience

No Remuneration for time and effort where other employee/s were paid for

While this experience that will be described is one in a sea of many, it is a definable one that shifted my patterns of response and continues to demonstrate to me the value in the training patterns I create through my practice and personal studies. It has also been an event where I never received remuneration for my time, yet someone received payment for it, even though it was the time and effort I put in. This, together with my mail being opened without my permission, and a lack of meeting my request to have it forwarded to me, plus some other incidents, I share this event in my life for training purposes. I, like the universe. do not like the lack of energetic reciprocity. This is one way of meeting my needs and balancing this out energetically while sharing it as educational materials. It is paying it forward to others in a positive way.

Being Nudged By Spirit to use this as a pattern to create a model

I believe I am being nudged by spirit or the dream state to share the patterns of how I handled this experience on site and after, as it was either detached or a state of detaching from ego, status and fear. It demonstrated fearlessness and the growth of a higher state of self-confidence and empowerment. A state that bypasses the fight, flight, freeze or fonding states with conscious awareness. Even though I kept telling myself that I had already learned these lessons and questioned how I found myself in this placement now, in hindsight, it was exactly what I needed to go through and be able to integrate into the focus of attention I have held for the past 30 years.

Why? Working with others now, what took 30 years is transitioning in mere hours or days is now happening for others who have gone beyond looking for outside strategies to change, and have shifted into longing for change. When that choice is made, there is less effort in transforming obstacles, and it seems that they fall away with more ease.

Upcoming post points will focus on these types of issues from this experience and will include practical steps to hold both sides equally from a leadership perspective and support each side involved to get their needs met, instead of only one side, due to the leadership going into sympathy versus empathy. This will be an integrative pattern to transform these types of bullying behaviour for your home, office and institution

An example of what you can expect to read about:

  • Home/Business Environment
  • Observations and Pitfalls of institutionalized expectations of employees in a home environment for one person
  • Employees who lacked typical dedication and devotion to their scheduled hours, and their possible contributions to this (from a professional with a background in hotel and hospitality)
  • Bullying incidents
  • Getting Resident outside after being housebound for over two years and only going out to go to Doctor appts
  • Patterns I used to encourage going outdoors with ease and motivation
    • Response of employees hearing about this, and aggressive responses
    • Response of a family member upon hearing this achievement
  • The use of inappropriately timed texting that instigated conflict and aggression
  • No regular eating schedule and missing meals daily basis
  • Lack of routine and schedule, and wellness shift with changes by creating regular daily patterns
  • Harmful Gossip that crossed between family and employees, no boundaries
  • Food Cost concerns by Office Admin that resulted in hostile behaviours, confusion and lack of food for resident:
    • The concern led to insufficient groceries in the home where I began feeding the resident my food daily
    • This concern led to repeated surveillance of me eating my own food by casual employees who wouldn’t know whose food was whose
    • My food was even used to make a meal for a family member by employees responsible for ordering food – there was a lack of consistent food supply
  • Business Partner/Friend who led a meeting to find out my concerns that led to employees changing all the points shared in the next days before our next meeting for resolution
  • Business Partner/Friends open hostility in a Professional Meeting
  • Sabatosh ofreputation in the community after being a whistleblower
  • Business Leader sabatoshing reputation with false accusations in the local community

Before exiting the property, I made some suggestions for the employee to implement. Some of these ideas were shared with a family member and business partner. I will do a detailed list of these points and recommendations and give an explanation of what inspired them. I believe they will be useful for other families who have employees working in a home with institutionalized training. I have successfully created other structured plans for families in need of this service in the local community. They are doable and work well.

Interesting & Important viewpoint of Carl Jungs on ‘being empathic’

This description is one of the best I have heard on explaining the statement, ‘being empathic.’ As a somatic empath myself, it resonates and supports my own personal experience and awareness that I draw on to cultivate concepts for learning to expand consciousness outside limited social conditioning constraints.

If you enjoy this video consider how important it is to integrate this archetype Carl Jung describes into the mass consciousness for acceptance to replace the stigma that comes from limited institutionalized educational patterns currently.

The educational programs here at Inside Awareness Center for Integrative Somatic Learning have a somatic empathic foundation.

Definition of Friendship:

Definition of Friendship

Friendship is hanging out with others regularly, like your classmates.ย  It can also be a long-term friendship with someone you trust and have shared values and experiences.ย ย ย

Consideration can only be truly achieved through the ability to balance the actions of listening and speaking equally.

COV’s Value observances in Nov to date :

Friendship

Peace, Clarity, Understanding & Resolution can only authentically be achieved through leadership training in the skills of listening and speaking

Dialogue and Listening are needed to have a balanced conversation of meaning. This balance brings success and achievement for all in relationships equally. When someone speaks they are leading the conversations and the listener is following. To have equality the speaker becomes the listener. This means the listener becomes the speaker. Leadership is a balance of giving and receiving in dialogue.

This pattern was developed from a talking circle.  The format was to go around and ask each participant what the focused value word meant to them.  Sometimes a definition from the dictionary was read out first.  People often did not know the definition meaning.  โ€˜Renee Lindstromโ€™

Awareness through Behaviour: Objectification

Relationship, Health & Wellbeing, Community, Fame, Wealth & Abundance

I wrote a blog post with the following paragraph that I want to highlight and bring attention to. It is in an article on aging. Through the experience of working with an age range focused on the interconnectedness of mental, emotional and physical behaviours with the intent to increase functions this topic plays out in oneโ€™s abilities for tolerance and flexibility. When people age it is presented in oneโ€™s appearance to those who have a trained eye. Whether the victim or perpetrator,  objectification in one’s history is identifiable in functional responses observable through touch, sight and sound.  (felt-sense, visually, or words spoken)

Here it is:

Anyone who attacks another person through words and actions, in the light or the dark, lacks self-esteem, self-confidence, skill sets, maturity and finesse. Their life may be a pursuit of trying to fill the void of loneliness, love and self-love, connection and self-connection, beauty and inner beauty, peace and inner peace, confidence from within that is courageous and outwardly to take right action and more. This imbalance that creates a void has the potential pattern for acquiring things, people, status and lustful deceit to manipulate. It lacks the inner sense of abundance. I witness a lack of connection to the value and quality they place in their acquisitions in these circumstances. There is a disconnect and this is the point that corruption can enter.

This perspective is included in the focus on patterns guided through integrative studies in learning groups and sessions. it will be a topic featured more in-depth through the mentoring programs @ Inside Awareness and in conversations and articles. Definition of Listening:

Listening is an action of hearing the sounds in the surroundings.ย  This includes other peopleโ€™s voices. Hearing what others are saying is a way to get to know what is important to them and to learn from them.ย

Remember Dialogues definition from last week:

Dialogue is a conversation with others that increases understanding, addresses problems, and questions thoughts and actions.

Why? How? When?

Somatic behaviour focus can redirect attention away from labels, being diagnosed & judged Such as word addictions with too many analytical definitions & moral judgements

I do not often use the word addictions. Only recently have I used it in my posts. I don’t let it influence my personal or group lessons. It is such a distracting word with so many changing definitions and a word that is normally very personal to the person speaking it into life, or listening to someone else speaking it to life. What I focus on is the instinct that turns one towards an addictive quality. For me the instinct is triggered by survival. An easy example is sex.  Sex is a basic need in the base level of needs along with water, food, shelter, air. If someone is operating under anxiety, stress, fear, or anger emotions it will trigger an instinctual reaction. In this example it would be self soothing through basic intercourse without much meaning, other than relief.  However, the urge in the gut is often still there during and after. If one increases sleep patterns, eats healthy, and starts to experience self fulfilling needs being met, including meaningful relationships, the instinctual need to self sooth shifts as the survival instinct diminishes. This doesn’t mean one loses their sex drive, it just shifts it into more meaningful interactions. This self soothing example can be replaced with the actions of gambling, drinking, drugs, smoking, food, etc. Often the focus is on the label – addiction, which can shift the mind focus to the past behaviour, memories, or blaming and shaming self and others. If one can capture the moment, there is a felt sense of the instinct that is felt prior to going into the habit of reacting to it. This is a moment to observe what just happened. (Something is happening in the moment of the trigger.)  This can be the point of change. Notice the trigger and instead of going into the strategy for self soothing, one can process the trigger and create inner balance. This is an important skill development.  Leaving it unchecked creates a type of random chaos either by oneself, or others who have clued in on how to keep one in the agitated state. (Yes, common strategy for others is to redirect someoneโ€™s focus of attention to get their own needs met).  The person who introduced this to me, Dr. Marshall Rosenberg, Ph.D., used an example of eating. Often when people become uncomfortable, they will reach for food. He would suggest the person reaching for food to stop and ask themselves if they are hungry, or if something else was instead gnawing at them. Usually, they are not hungry, and this pause to check in is enough to shift the experience to talking about whatever it is that instigated the action of reaching for food. It could be as simple as being asked an uncomfortable question. The trigger is inner conflict. If you disagree with someone, it can cause inner conflict. If you hear a hard to hear message, it can create inner conflict. If someone tries to control you it can cause inner conflict. etc., etc.
