To cut through resistance with a student, I suggested we transition our session to one of my local favorite hangouts, “Finnerty Gardens,” at the University of Victoria.

Strolling through a combination of forest and tames beds and lawns, I noticed the difference between being restful and at peace in this type of  environment and one that is nervous with a racing mind.  After investigating the landscape for a time we sat on a bench to integrate and continue our session.  Long periods of comfortable silence encouraged  a deeper opening and sharing.  Simple and transitional!

ONE BIG AHA AFTER 10 YEARS

The meaning of environment!  What began as an understanding that the environment was far from our center has transitioned to understanding the influence of our environment to have a much closer relationship.  It is much closer inward than the planet, the earth, the sun, sky, air, etc. It is much closer than our property, home and individuals rooms in our house.  It is also includes the clothes we wear, the jewelry we put on and the make up we apply. It is also includes our posture.  It is our pattern of how we hold our bodies upright.  (How we hold our bodies upright creates an environment that we are stimulated by and react to!)    It is the food that we eat!  (The food we consume creates an environment that we react to and are stimulated by!)
