Announcing Feng Shui for function

….in first person…..I have just announced this focus on the topic page titled Awareness through Feng Shui.

Announcing a new integrative focus on Awareness through Feng Shui. Not a new focus my work as a practitioner, consultant and mentor, a new focus in Feng Shui and a newly differentiated topic on the Urban Feng Shui web site. Feng Shui is a program of one of the nine pillars at my learning center, Inside Awareness Center for Integrative Somatic Learning. It is a program in the Knowledge/Educational Life area for creative lifestyles. Feldenkrais is in a the pillar area of Health with a focus of attention on functional integration that originates with the skeleton in postural transitions… I have differentiated the life areas life activities fall under for increased integrations, understanding and increased mindfulness. This differentiation increases intellectual clarity through enhanced mindfulness. Watch these web pages if this topic interests you as there will be a new and interesting perspective on design and health. The relief is it will not be from the marketing perspective of advertising furniture will a lack of understanding the skeletal needs for optimized functional movement.

Creating Bamboo Forest in Landscape!

by  Renee Lindstrom, GCFP

Before & After Harvesting

Along the fence running the length of the back of the property  bamboo has been planted.  This fence has a busy sidewalk and roadway behind it and the bamboo provides privacy and protection now that it has grown.  This summer the bamboo has become tall enough that the stalks are ‘living art.’

Harvesting this bamboo has transformed this grass from an overgrown and overwhelming  state into a calm bamboo forest!  This space is becoming more balanced and comfortable.  The openness also represents letting new energy into the life areas that run along the fence:  wealth, fame and relationships!

The element that dominates these three life areas is the element of fire.  Bamboo represents the element of wood which is supportive of fire.  It is also the strongest wood on the planet that represents longevity.  It is a good plant to support health, wealth and happiness in these three life areas!

For more on uses of harvested bamboo visit Living in Natures Love our sister site to empower personal landscape connection for health and wellness.

Where is your relationships corner?

Imagine a nine square grid overlaying your property.  Three rows of three, equal in size.  Now stand on the street facing your property.  The relationship corner is the last square to the right in the farthest row of three.  Now walk back into your garden as though for the first time and observe this area and what story it may share.

Consider a consult with me, in person, face-time or by phone!

Fun & Cheap Gardening Ideas!

Relationship Corner 2016-05-29 14.37.35When it came to fixing up our relationship corner we didn’t have a plan until at the beach gathering Nootka Rose petals.  It’s where we noticed some beautiful rounded bark with red lines.  Gathering this bark along with some different driftwood pieces a great corner emerged!  What was the cost?  Our own effort. and $20.00 for sand, #20.00 for gravel and #20.00 for compost!

8 Trigrams & 64 Hexigrams became a discovery of something implicit in the cosmic order

YinYangThese 8 trigrams are the building blocks of 64 hexagrams that display every possible combination of these lines. It was the first of these sequences that led the 17th century father of calculus, Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz to discover the functioning of the binary system. A Jesuit priest, who was based in China, showed the configuration to Leibniz, who investigated further and discovered that if the value of 0 were attributed to each solid line, and the value of 1 to each broken line, it would give the binary notation for the numbers 0 through to 63. The uncovering of the binary code allowed Leibniz to change the path of mathematics for all time.  The I Ching is therefore the earliest known example of binary notation, this being the smallest complete arithmetic number system as well as the language that enables computers to work.

Thinking of a Roof Top Gardens

20150801_140029-1

5 Element Theory is a philosophy based upon connection with nature and a perspective that nature includes both natural elements and their cultural meanings. With this in mind a roof top garden is situated on the top of an image of ones head.  In the design of a building the windows are the eyes and the door is the door and the foundation are the feet.  Therefore the top or roof of the building is the loftier function of achievement and intelligence.

Garden plants and colors are in the element of wood which supports the element of fire.  Fire is a favorable roof element.   However, earth drains fire!  Too much earth will drain the energy out of the fire element and water will extinguish it.

A roof top garden should be one that does not need much watering or hold standing water.  Ideally it would be one that is inviting to come out onto the roof to sit and enjoy alone or gather in groups.  Keep in mind that any sitting areas would be enhanced by adding a roof, ie. umbrella over tables.

One exception could be the roof top garden on top of Fenway Stadium that is supplying the food vendors at the stadium with fresh greens.  The stadium now sells only healthy foods made from this garden replacing the greasy fat foods previously sold  This is a fundamental educative experience!

How to find the Numerology Number of Addresses

Follow these steps for finding out the numerology of addresses:

Step #1:

  • Add the numbers in the address together.  For example my office number used to be 1618.

1 + 6 + 1 + 8 =’s 16

Step #2:

  • Now take the two numbers’ in this answer and add them together:

1 + 6 =’s 7

Why?  to come up with a number 9 and under!

My office number is a 7!

If there is a street number and a unit number do each number separately:

Street number:  represents pathway to achieving experience

Unit number:  represents personal experience

Now that you have your number what does it mean?  Read more
