Learn to read others:
This first step is taking it to the next level. At work (and home) start to notice the tension in others. If you are feeling bored you start fidgeting. If you are frightened you may experience a dry mouth. Become curious about what others are experiencing in your interactions.
This week begin a practice of observing the posture in others and their tone of voice as they speak. Consider the state of their emotions and the story they are telling themselves.
All skilled, influence-empowered people begin with this first step.

Learning to differentiate your thoughts. Purpose: to notice the source of your actions. Reason: Not everyone has the same past as you so cannot fit into your perspective! If you want to connect (rather than have conflict) it is important to notice the difference between your automatic response based on old stories and what is happening in the “now” ~ present moment.

Dialogue series for couples wrapped up last night for the summer. It ended on an honest note of expressing how this experience was for people in the group and how to move forward with options for practice and future connection. We focused on how if you don’t use it you lose it! This means if you are shifting your conscious awareness one sentence at a time, you need a tribe to practice with for support to stay in connection and develop different speaking habits. This begs the question, do you have a practice tribe that is committed to expressing honestly and listening with empathy in a way that provides the witnessing and acceptance that is needed for a shift in behavior to happen?
Working with couples in a group like this has been one of the most powerful experiences I have had in facilitating learning groups for shifting consciousness and behavior awareness one sentence at a time. It has allowed me a glimmer into how deeply we love and in turn feel pain when we become enemies in our inability to relate, understand and equally hear each others point or perspective. Think about the power in our personal coupling. After-all, it is our parents coupling relationship that shaped us, how we feel, think, react, love, fight, hate….
All the most important aspects of thought comes from that which is thinking through us. and this process is the myth, one of the most profound things of life; it is creation itself, which becomes accessible and, in part, emerges and gives, of its own accord, a sense of direction to the human creature. It is something with which – if we use our brains and imagination – we are in partnership.

We re-activate soul when we see every moment, every meeting in life, every dream, every action as poetry and myth.

We have to realize that a creative being lives within ourselves, whether we like it or not, and that we must get out of its way, for it will not give us peace until we do.
