Sitting  (since 2007)

IS SITTING BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH? AWARE OF THE CHAIR!

sitting 2

  • June 7 – June 28

LOCATION:   Monterey Recreation Centre, 1442 Monterey Avenue

How you sit in a chair makes a big difference in how you will feel the rest of time! For example, do you forget that you are sitting when at your computer all day or while watching T.V., only to be reminded when you get up and your stiff and sore? Chairs are not designed to accommodate your body, your body accommodates the chair! Bodies are naturally designed to squat, not sit in a chair.  Explore movement techniques that will increase your awareness of sensory cues to help you recognize and listen to your comfort zone while sitting.  Learn to balance your spine engaging your natural curves distributing shoulder and pelvis effort proportionally.  Unlearn the old by learning to sense your own range of comfort.  This will have longer lasting effects than trying to be correct!

Classes 4/73.00
