#4. Awareness through Movement

Felt sense through Body

The Feldenkrais Method helps people of all ages learn to move easier and enriches lives through the learning a unique way of focusing attention to expand awareness. Learning these ways can be an essential addition to the treatment of neurological, orthopedic, chronic pain, and stress-related conditions.

  • Easier movement means greater comfort performing everyday activities at work or home, and greater skill in athletic and artistic pursuits.
  • As you expand your awareness of how you think, sense, feel, and move, the possibilities for personal improvement and human development are limitless.

In the workspace Feldenkrais can support physical alignment of one’s posture that will influence physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing.

Imagine the long lasting effects of sitting to work on ones computer with legs stretched out in this way as illustrated in the first photo. Now turn to the chairs and consider how they too would create physical problems over time from back to shoulder and neck pain. One of the worse contributors to poor posture is sitting. As a Feldenkrais Practitioner guiding movement patterns the most difficult movement for men and women to access is pelvic movements. This is from years of sitting and sitting with bad posture. This is a range of those woe are motivated with fitness to those who are not. It is not what you do, it’s how you do it.

Feldenkrais coaching can make the difference in the health and wellbeing of those in your workspace from those who are standing and sitting for long periods to those entering the boardroom to make executive decisions and changes.
