AN EAST FACING FRONT DOOR

Compass reading – 67.5 to 112.5 degrees

An east  facing front door is considered to have a yang (masculine) quality to it. East reflects springtime and morning time.  Therefore this would not be the hot afternoon sun, but the fresh rising sun.

This direction is the family doorway and it represents community and past.  The East is considered a wood element which can be reflected by the shape of an upright rectangle or in  the colors of green and brown.

Enhancements to an East Facing Front Door

Water and earth support the wood element in the nurturing cycle of the element theory .  Therefore enhancements can be made using these element’s characteristics.   These are the colors of blue, black, light yellows & earth colors and the low square or irregular shapes.

Avoid with a East Facing Door

Metal  & Fire elements destroy wood, therefore colors and objects reflecting these two elements are avoid at an East Facing Front Door.

A NORTH FACING DOOR

Compass reading –  337.5 to 22.5 degrees

A North  facing front door is considered to have yin (feminine energy).   This direction is the season of winter or night into morning.

This direction is the Life-path doorway and it represents the journey and careers.  The North  is considered a water element which can be reflected by an irregular shape or in  the colors of blue and black.

Enhancements to a North Facing Front Door

In the element theory water is supported by the metal element therefore enhancements can be made using characteristics of this elements.   These are the colors of blue and black, round shapes and metal objects.

Avoid with a North Facing Door

It is best to avoid objects and colors in the elements of Fire and Wood  as these elements destroy water.

A NORTH–EAST FACING FRONT DOOR

Compass reading –  22.5 to 67.5  degrees

A North – East  facing front door is considered a yin and yang balance.  This direction is a transitional stage in the wheel of winter into spring or night into morning.

This direction is the spirituality and personal growth  doorway and it represents higher education.  The North–East is considered an earth element which can be reflected by a low square shape or in  the colors of light yellow, sand and earth, however it is primarily associated with the color of blue.

Enhancements to a North-East Facing Front Door

Fire and Metal support earth in the nurturing cycle of the element theory.   Therefore enhancements can be made using these element’s characteristics.   Colors of black, grey, white, red, purple, orange, deep yellows and pinks and the shape of triangles and circles are some examples.

Avoid with a North-East Facing Door

Wood and water destroys earth, therefore colors and objects reflecting these two elements are avoided with East Facing Front Door in the element theory.

When would you paint your Front Door Blue?

The best direction for a blue door is with North-East facing door.  North-East is the doorway of personal growth and spirituality and reflects higher education and knowledge.

A blue door in a southeast facing door is powerful as the deep blue/black color represents money and wealth. This direction is considered the prosperity doorway.

Blue

 

You can consider painting your front door blue if  it faces north yet a better choice may be black!

A  fourth direction for a blue door is east.

A South – West  facing front door is considered to have a balance of yin and yang energy.   This direction is the season of summer transitioning into fall or late afternoon.

This direction is the Love & Relationship doorway and it represents Partnerships.

The South–West is considered an earth element which can be reflected in low square shapes or in  the colors of light yellow, sand and earth.

What to Avoid with a South-West Facing Door

When would you paint your Front Door Red?

The best time to paint your front door red is when you have a south facing front door! Red

If you have a South-East facing door you can consider painting it red yet a better choice may be green, blue or purple!

The third direction you may consider a red door would be North-East.  However, stick with red range of  earth colors such as adobe and brick!
