The Pattern

Learning to speak honestly is designed to safely begin choosing to identify one’s intention that leads to self-connection first and then a connection with others.  One learns that stopping to check into one’s own intention or not, are both personal choices that each have different outcomes.  One way can lead to understanding and experiences of being heard, while the other way leads to conflict and reactions.

Part two of Learning to Learn through Communication

Integrating the Model

Skill development can deepen one’s awareness of speaking habits which  increases understanding and tolerance of each others differences of  opinions, perspectives and philosophies.  Practice can support an end to reactive conflict and be a fresh way of meaningful connection regardless these differences.  This can turn the effort into ease in conversations.  All parties in the dialogue can can begin to experience being heard, seen and valued.

Part three of Learning to Learn through Communication

Changing the cultural communication environment one sentence at a time 

The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.

The elusive yet tangible outcomes of personal learning and practice can result in the following benefits.

  • decrease in resentments, frustration, annoyance and anger
  • improved connections, commitments, results
  • less despondency, depression and aggression
  • more joy, peace and harmony
  • increase in pleasant sensations 

Remember it only takes one person to shift a group culture

The focus of this way of learning and skill development

  • Learning how to speak with intention when communicating
    • increases chances for being heard and understood
  • Learning to identify intention in what others are communicating
    • increases interdependent relationships and acceptance that each person perceives the world differently
    • develops skills to recognize differences and respond back in ways to increase participation and cooperation
