BODY RESPONSES

Comfortable social engagements:

  • a responsive face, heart rate and blood pressure
  • our body is flexible
  • we have curiosity, interest, passion and we are calm
  • we feel safe and comfortable

uncomfortable social situations:

Fight or Flight 

  • have a  face that is partly frozen, angry or scared
  • have a fast heart rate and high blood pressure
  • have tense body
  • experience fear and anger
  • are on alert for danger

Freeze  

  • have a frozen face
  • have a  slow heart rate
  • have extremely low blood pressure
  • experience our body as collapsed
  • experience hopelessness, shame and confusion
  • don’t feel anything or we feel numb
  • are shut-down
